About the artist

Kenn has been working with wood for twenty years. He
graduated in 1985 from Triway High School and the WCJVS
where he went through the carpentry program. After
graduation he attended the Landing School of  Boat building
and Design in Kennebunk, Maine.

Over the years Kenn has continued to develop his skills
building and restoring wood and fiberglass boats and in
construction and a custom cabinet shop. He has also worked
in an auto body shop restoring classic cars. Currently Kenn is
self employed building custom furniture and producing his art
work at his studio in Shreve, Ohio.

Kenn is a self taught artist. Over the years he has been
commissioned to do portraits and wooden sculptures. In
January, 2004 Kenn purchased a used lathe from a friend
and soon realized that he could combine his woodworking
with his art as a wood turner.

Kenn uses both exotic  and locally found woods. Each piece
is  unique and one of a kind. Kenn likes to highlight
characteristics in the wood that others might consider flaws.

Kenn’s pieces are currently on display at the Berlin Creek
Gallery in Berlin and the Cyrus Custom Framing & Art Gallery
in Canton, Ohio.

Kenn’s work is in private collections in Wayne and Holmes
counties. He also has collectors in Columbus and Toledo
Ohio. Kenn recently has acquired collectors in Arizona, Illinois,
Norway and Wales.
